In the summer of 2019, we had the pleasure of planning and carrying out the grand opening ceremony for the newest location of Pestalozzi-Bibliothek Zürich (Schützenareal). In 2020, we were asked to organise a more extensive image campaign. The goal: to show what’s available. After all, the public library has everything the media landscape has to offer for the young and the not-so-young – "from A to PBZ". Building on the claim, the idea emerged of showcasing the library’s wide range of services in the form of the alphabet. We therefore selected 26 subjects to display in a modern setting.
Each of them refers to a famous literary, cinematic or musical work that can be found at PBZ. The chosen work is staged with sections of its logo and other key elements against a monochrome background. The visual supports have headlines that can be understood in relation to both the title and the library. The solution follows in the subline.
The subjects were placed at different locations in Zurich in various formats – for example as hanging boxes in trams and buses, as OOH or DOOH, as newspaper ads and of course on PBZ’s social media.
